Chitwan Village Resort

Stayed for 4 nights and so very glad I picked this absolutely perfect resort hotel in Chitwan because sadly I was sick and unable to safari. Nevermind that because the staff, especially the always caring Basu, absolutely made sure that I was taken care of, traveling alone with a fever and flu and my first time in Nepal. I saw many travelers go on safari of course and heard there were rhinos. I myself saw elephants, crocodiles, gharials all from daily walks to strengthen my lungs. My room was a deluxe double with balcony, a huge, clean room with two very comfortable beds and two picture windows, very comfortable and warm even in January with an extra comforter, sublimely beautiful grounds, and except for the usual dogs, quiet at night. Also a perfect location! A short walk to Tharu village or to town. With such a view! And easy to walk to the riverbank. Or in the evening when the mosquitos get thick, the local kids are playing and the people are farming; it's really sweet to see and is scenic, real Nepal. Excellent, huge breakfast cooked to order and wonderful masala chai too. I looked in and out of practically every hotel in Sauraha and it is my opinion that this lovely family-run resort is the absolute best. Also very kind driver to the tourist bus and Raj the owner/manager is a good guy. He has a loyal team for a reason! I hope to return in the future with family and then we can take that safari together! But I recommend 4-7 days to just unwind here. It couldn't be a more beautiful and serene space.

Everything! The staff is incredibly warm and friendly from the very first minute. They welcomed us already at the bus stop. Every wish is fulfilled immediately. So far, we have mainly used hotels just for the night, but in this one, we truly enjoyed spending a relaxing day as well. The garden is spacious, beautiful, and well-maintained, with plenty of cozy seating areas. The rooms are also spacious, furnished with many pieces, bright, and clean. Plus, there are mosquito nets everywhere. Breakfast is very tasty and they offer you a lot to choose (pancakes, fruit, bread, eggs, potatoes, juice...) The hotel's location is perfect—you can reach the river or the town center on foot in just two minutes. At this price, you won’t find a better hotel in Sauraha. It definitely deserves more stars! A very kind gesture was that they only charged us for the actual nights we stayed, as we had to arrive later due to illness. A huge thank you to the entire team!!!

Booked 4 nights, stayed 5. Very friendly and nice staff, good rooms, nice garden view, working AC & hot showers. Good breakfast with pancakes and omlette every morning. very very friendly staff, personnel family-touch. Pricing of food is absolutely fair. Tours to Chitwan national park are conducted with own guides directly employeed by the resort. Same prices as in town. The guides were very good (we did full day jeep and full day jungle hike). Due to excellent time planning we were the first jeep in the morning in the jungle (best chances to see the wild animals). We were so lucky, that we even saw two tigers! Resort also booked our bus back to kathmandu - without additional charges. So very fair attitude.

Manager was super nice. Family business. All staff extremely friendly & helpful. Upon arrival, the manager gave us many options for safaris. I did not compare or check other alternatives, so I was a bit apprehensive, but our choices from his safari offerings , with guides on his staff, turned out to be fantastic. Breakfast was ok for me, but next day requested fresh vegetables instead of pancake, and request was promptly fulfilled. So most highly recommended on all accounts.

The staff was amazing! Very friendly and helpful. They helped us enjoy ourselves at the resort and to book socially responsible tours, where elephant safari etc. were directly advised against. The hotel area is super cozy, and its beautiful garden and stylish buildings helps to create a proper safari vibe, though the hotel is merely a hotel/bnb and not a resort. Would definitely recommend visiting this place!
